Eli Manning's consecutive starts streak hit 100 games Monday night in the Giants' game against the Vikings. And now he has a solid number to shoot for in the future.
That's exactly where Hall of Famer in waiting Brett Favre's own consecutive streak stopped, as the 41-year-old quarterback with the bad throwing shoulder was rendered inactive. Starting in his place is Tarvaris Jackson.
Favre had played in every game for the Packers and Vikings since Sept. 27, 1992 against the Steelers.
Manning now owns the second longest active starting streak by a quarterback. The leader? Brother Peyton, whose streak stands at 205.
Here is the total list of inactives. Note that the Giants have activated both WRs Steve Smith and Hakeem Nicks. OL David Diehl is also active.
Giants -- C Shaun O'Hara, WR Darius Reynaud, CB Michael Coe, LB Phillip Dillard, OL Shawn Andrews, OL Jamon Meredith, WR Duke Calhoun, and DT Linval Joseph.
Vikings -- QB Brett Favre, WR Percy Harvin, WR Hank Baskett, S Tyrell Johnson, CB Chris Cook, G Steve Hutchinson, DT Fred Evans, and DE Ray Edwards.
The list of inactives for the Giants-Vikings relocated game in Detroit's Ford Field contained one truly famous name -- Brett Favre. As Eli Manning's streak of consecutive starts hit 100 Monday night, Favre's ended at 297.
