Chip Kelly gets first taste of Giants-Eagles

Chip Kelly | Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia is currently 1-3, while New York remains 0-4. Many fans are wondering who will come out on top this Sunday, while Eagles coach Chip Kelly talk to reporters this week about his first taste of this NFC East rivalry.

There has been a good deal of hype centered on the Eagles with their new coaching staff and starting lineup. Even so, the Eagles are riding a three-game losing streak; not the ideal start for Philadelphia and new head coach, Chip Kelly.

"We don't pay attention to the hype," noted Kelly. "I don't think anything we do is revolutionary."

With new coaches this season, the Eagles' offense and defense has really needed to adjust.

"They have a good understanding of what we're doing," noted Kelly. "Our guys have been fantastic in terms of picking things up and really being students of the game. I'm really pleased with how they picked things up."

The team may be adjusting to the new playbook, but everyone is wondering how Philadelphia will matchup against Tom Coughlin on Sunday. Kelly explained that they needed to break down the team's structure.

"Obviously, offensively it starts with Eli, noted Kelly. "He's one of the premier quarterbacks in this league. Defensively, their front has always been where it starts with Tuck and JPP."

While the Eagles are putting together a game plan for Sunday, they are facing the recent Super Bowl champions who just so happen to be desperate for a win. Kelly is aware that he is going into this game with the pressure of getting Philadelphia back into the into the divisional race for the remainder of the season. Kelly discussed Philadelphia's sense of urgency.

"There are 32 teams in the league and if you don't feel urgent on a weekly basis, you're going to lose," noted Kelly. "Every week is the Super Bowl."

Kelly insisted that he's not concerned about the Giants' fast-paced offense and the Eagles need to work on being consistent in all facets in order to get back in the win column.
