Camp Quickies

Tim Carter shocked everyone and practiced during the morning session and looked great, catching at least four passes. Carter's been slowed by a knee injury and said Thursday that he didn't think he'd practice opening day. More on Carter to follow.

The first play of the 11-on-11 scrimmage was a long Eli Manning bomb down the right sideline to Amani Toomer, who had separated nicely from CB Sam Madison.

First-round pick Mathias Kiwanuka on his first NFL practice: "Since we had the rookie minicamps and offseason program, I wasn't as nervous as some people might think or even I thought I would be. It felt good, it felt good. As always there are things I have to pick up and learn. I didn't do everything perfect or right. You try not to make the same mistakes again and also build on the things I did right."
