Umenyiora’s hip flexor and Short’s quad injury have kept both out of practice Wednesday and Thursday. However, CB Sam Madison (hamstring) and STs ace David Tyree (ankle) are also listed as questionable and are more likely to be able to play this Sunday.
“I think it’s getting better,” coach Tom Coughlin said of his team’s health. “I think it is. There’s nothing radical to announce. Progress is being made.”
The Giants list five players – WR Plaxico Burress (back), FB Jim Finn (ankle), WR Amani Toomer (ankle), CB Frank Walker (hamstring) and CB Corey Webster (back) – as probable. All obviously are expected to suit up Sunday.
WR Sinorice Moss, who returned to practice on an individual basis today after being shut down for a few weeks, is still listed as doubtful with a mysterious quad injury, as is DE Justin Tuck, out with an injured foot.
