Strahan Still on Target

Strahan again practiced without incident and is on track to play for the first time since Nov. 5. Strahan, who has been sidelined with a sprained foot, is listed as questionable.

"Michael has done everything, been in every drill (and) is working his way back into his ability to be in the middle with all things," Tom Coughlin said. "He's done well."

However, the news was not so good on the offensive line front. Guard Chris Snee was ill and sat out practice, increasing the number of sidelined offensive linemen to four. Coughlin said he expects Snee, who was added to the injury report as probable, to return to practice tomorrow.

Center Shaun O'Hara (ankle) remains questionable, guard-center Rich Seubert (leg) is doubtful and tackle Luke Petitgout (fractured fibula) is out. If O'Hara and Seubert can't play, the Giants will have only seven healthy linemen. Grey Ruegamer will play center and the Giants' two reserve linemen will be rookie Guy Whimper (who has played only on special teams in the six games for which he's dressed) and Steve Edwards, who was signed last week.

"To be honest with you, prior to the two tight ends (using Seubert as an extra tight end) we always played with seven (linemen)," Coughlin said. "So having seven guys active is not (unusual). Steve Edwards has played in the league, obviously, he started games in the league. Guy Whimper is just a rookie, but they've gotten a lot of work now. Both of those guys got a ton of work today. You never know when you're going to be called upon and you'd better be ready, because everyone on the team is looking forward to your contribution if you're called upon."

Running back Brandon Jacobs did not participate in the team portion of practice because of a sore ankle. He worked yesterday and Coughlin expects him back on the field tomorrow. Jacobs is listed as questionable, as is cornerback Corey Webster (toe). Recommended Stories
