You knew it was coming. So much offensive talent on the Giants and so little offensive output led to Tom Coughlin stripping offensive coordinator John Hufnagel of his play-calling duties. Quarterbacks coach Kevin Gilbride will handle those duties on Saturday night in Washington.

The Giants are in need of a victory, coupled with a Dallas win over Detroit on Sunday, which would clinch the tiebreaker for New York over Green Bay and ensure a second consecutive playoff appearance for Big Blue.

On the injury front, the Giants were forced to shelve Michael Strahan, who re-injured his foot during last week's game against the Saints, KR Chad Morton, who tore his ACL against New Orleans, and finally gave up on Luke Petitgout. All three were placed on Injured Reserve on Tuesday.
