Giants’ Short witness to multiple murders

Posted Mar 15, 2007

Giants free agent LB Brandon Short was witness to last night’s New York City shooting that left four dead.

Short and a friend were in a jewelry store right next store were the shooter went to reload. Short and his friend immediately hit the ground in the back of the store after hearing countless shots fired.

“I was scared when the bullets were flying,” Short told TGI. I didn’t know what was going to happen, we really could be dead. There’s no question about that.”

Short and his companion were walking when they saw the two off-duty policemen moments before the shooting.

“Everyday is a blessing,” Short said. The police officers are out there every day putting their lives on the line for people they don’t even know. Those guys are truly heroes.”
