Practice Notes - Monday Sept 9

C Dusty Zeigler

Zeigler, who ran with the second-team offensive line, is on pace to get back to a normal practice routine by Wednesday.

While RB Tiki Barber and LB Brandon Short sat out of practice Monday, C Dusty Zeigler returned to action.

Barber, who had his toe injured early in last Thursday's contest, sat out of work, but should be fine for Sunday's game in St. Louis. Barber said his hamstring felt better, and wasn't worried about his availability for Sunday.

Short is also expected to be fine for the Rams showdown this Sunday.

Zeigler, who ran with the second-team offensive line, is on pace to get back to a normal practice routine by Wednesday.

"He did some things," Jim Fassel said. "It's coming along. If everything progresses, we'll get him some reps Wednesday."

Still, Zeigler is not expected to play this Sunday.

Also, Fassel mentioned that the club would have liked to sign Darian Barnes, who lost the fullback battle to Charles Stackhouse, to the practice squad, but he was inked by Tampa. As a result, New York signed Kyle Johnson to its taxi squad.
