It's All Over

At 12:49 Thursday afternoon, the final whistle blew in Albany and Giants players rejoiced as training camp 2007 officially came to a close.

"I told them they had a good camp," Tom Coughlin said. "They're coming together as a team. The number one thing is team and we made progress along those lines."

This was certainly a big camp for new starting running back Brandon Jacobs.

"I feel that I had a pretty good camp," he said.

"But I wasn't as crisp as I wanted to be."

As for Saturday night's preseason matchup with the Jets, Coughlin said that punter Jeff Feagles, who's been bothered by a stiff back, will not play. TE Jeremy Shockey and RB Derrick Ward are unlikely to play, as is QB Jared Lorenzen, who is still feeling the effects of a concussion he suffered in Baltimore. Lorenzen was not expected to play much anyway, as Anthony Wright and Tim Hasselbeck were scheduled to back up Eli Manning. Lorenzen will get the lion's share of the snaps next Thursday night in New England.

The Giants also made a few roster moves on Thursday. The club put safety Michael Stone on Injured Reserve with a hip injury and waived promising WR Marco Thomas. The Giants also signed former Auburn LB Karibi Dede.
