In non-Strahan news, the Giants reached the 75-man roster limit by placing long-snapper Ryan Kuehl on injured reserve. Kuehl suffered a calf injury on July 31. This is the second time in Kuehl’s five years with the Giants that he will spend an entire season on I.R. He missed the 2003 season with an elbow injury.
Kuehl is regarded as one of the NFL’s best and most reliable long and short snappers. He has been replaced by two rookies, defensive tackle Jay Alford on field goals and extra points, and linebacker Zak DeOssie on punts.
