Injured Holmes feeling better every day

DE Kenny Holmes was limited to third-down situations in last Sunday's second half in Arizona against the Cardinals. The Giants will need more from Holmes this week with a nicked-up defensive line.

If you take a look at the Giants injury report, there are a frightening number of defensive linemen listed.

On that list you will see Kenny Holmes (elbow), Keith Hamilton (groin) and backup Matt Mitrione (shoulder). Not listed is DT Cornelius Griffin, who is expected to play even after hyperextending his knee.

While Hamilton did not practice, Holmes did. In order to protect his injured right elbow, Holmes wore a bulky brace to protect it.

According to the Star-Ledger, Holmes said "Right now it's day-to-day...I'm going to go out and play and see how it feels. Sunday, I'm going to play as much as I possibly can. I can tell it's coming back. Each day I can feel it getting stronger.".

The Giants will need him back, along with Hamilton if the Giants expect to put pressure on Dallas this week at Texas Stadium.

The Giants (2-2) take on the Dallas Cowboys (2-2) at 1:PM this Sunday. Recommended Stories
