There are numerous rumors, thoughts and ideas swirling all around Giants
Stadium as the club approaches its division showdown with Washington this
Sunday. Here are The Giants Insider's best mid-week guesses of what will
happen:
WR Herman Moore will play. He says he thinks he's a week away and messing up
would be a "nightmare," but it seems unlikely that the coaching staff can't
at least get him on the field for 10 or so plays and let him use his size to
his and the team's advantage…
WR Tony Simmons will not play Sunday. He'll either be released by the end of
the week, or more likely deactivated before the contest.
WR Derek Dorris will be signed to the active roster at the end of the week
and will suit up Sunday.
WR Ron Dixon and rookie LB Nick Greisen are both ahead of schedule and will
miss this week, but return in Houston the following Sunday
P Matt Allen will hold and be the club's punter Sunday, while Tom Rouen will
be inactive. Rouen will not, however, be waived anytime soon
The Giants will split the long-snapping duties, with Jason Whittle handling
the short snaps and Chris Bober snapping for punts. Bob Jones will be
inactive or waived by the end of the week
And, finally, Jessie Armstead will still try to tear Tiki Barber's head off
By the way, the other WRs to work out Tuesday were Larry Parker and Chris
Taylor
