Herman Moore, 33, is one of the most prolific wide receivers in NFL history. The 6-4, 218-pounder played for the
Detroit Lions from 1991-2001. Moore is 17th on the NFL's career list with 670 receptions. He caught more than 100
passes every season from 1995 to 1997, including an NFL-record 123 receptions in 1995, joining Jerry Rice as the
only players in history to cross the century mark in three consecutive years. Moore set a career high with 14
receptions against Chicago on Dec. 4, 1995. He has 34 career 100-yard games. Moore played in the Pro Bowl every
season from 1994 to 1997.
Moore's 9,174 receiving yards are 21st all-time. He has scored 62 career touchdowns, which ties him for 42nd
all-time.
Moore left the University of Virginia after his junior season and was Detroit's first-round choice in the 1991 draft, the
10th overall selection. He started 123 of 145 games he played for the Lions. In 2001, Moore played in three games
with one start, and caught four passes for 76 yards. He suffered a torn hip muscle and the Lions placed him on
injured reserve. Moore was released by Detroit on June 3, 2002.
