Here are some notes and quotes from the Giants locker room following Big Blue’s 37-34 victory over Cleveland...
Anthony Wright
(4-8) and
David Carr
(7-14) each completed half of their passes. Neither threw for a TD and Wright had the one INT that really wasn’t his fault.
Danny Ware
looked real good in the second half. He finished with 97 rushing yards on only 10 carries and added a 59-yard kickoff return. "I have been impressed with Danny Ware righ t along, right through camp, and we will wait to look at the film, but I know he had some really fine runs tonight," Tom Coughlin said.
Bryan Kehl
led the Giants with five tackles,
Kevin Dockery
had four and six Giants posted three stops, including
Danny Clark
,
Stuart Schweigert
and
Kenny Phillips
.
Michael Strahan was on hand, making the first of what is expected to be several appearances at Giants games this season.
Tom Coughlin: "That was a game in which many, many things happened. It was kind of a bizarre game."
Coughlin on
Domenik Hixon
: "It was just an outstanding night for Domenik Hixon."
Coughlin on injuries: "We do have a few guys that are injured. As far as I know, (Brandon) London with a shoulder, (Anthony) Wright with a back,
Terrell Thomas
with a slight hamstring strain, Reuben=2 0Droughns cramped up, and Kay-Jay Harris, we are waiting to hear on the status of his ankle."
Sinorice Moss
on his 53-yard pass interference penalty: "It’s a great feeling to know the coaches have confidence in me."
Andre’ Woodson on his first game snaps as a pro: "It felt really good to be out there. I wish I could have been out there longer. I was a little nervous. I know I messed up a couple calls."
Brandon London, who only got a few snaps before spraining his left shoulder: "Today was the day all of America was going to be watching. I’m really disappointed. It’s tough but it’s football."
