There were a couple changes among the Giants captains for the 2008 season.

In addition to holdovers QB Eli Manning, LB Antonio Pierce and P Jeff Feagles, WR Amani Toomer and DT Fred Robbins were elected to represent their teammates on weekends this fall.

Toomer has replaced Shaun O'Hara on offense, while Robbins replaces the retired Michael Strahan on defense.

"It feels good to have your teammates and your peers nominate you for something like that," said Robbins, who said he was a team captain in both high school and at Wake Forest. "It's an honor. It's not something to take lightly."

"I'm really happy," Toomer said. "I haven't really been captain on a team since high school, so I'm very excited about that. When your teammates elect you captain it's a real special thing. It just makes you put that much more on the season personally, because I am one of the captains. It's definitely going to be interesting dealing with that change, because I've been around so long doing the same thing, now I have to go out and do the coin toss. That will be pretty interesting."
