GLENDALE, Ariz. – Eli Manning was fantastic in Arizona. Simply put, this was the best performance of the year for last year’s Super Bowl MVP.
“Eli played very, very well,” Tom Coughlin said. “I thought he played extremely well. He just continues to do whatever has to be done to win a game.”
Against the Cardinals it was mistake-free football, with a super high completion percentage. Manning hit on all but seven of his 33 passes. He threw for three touchdowns and 240 yards for good measure.
“We knew coming in that we were going to have to throw the ball,” Manning said. “It was a good game to come back out and get our passing game going a little bit.”…
Terrell Thomas
said he was able to record his first career interception because the Cardinals had beaten him on a similar play earlier in the contest and he was able to make an adjustment the second time around…
C Shaun O’Hara was flagged for a personal foul penalty in the second quarter, but he expressed no regret because he said he was defending a teammate from a cheap shot by Cards DT
Darnell Dockett
. “He was being cheap all game, trying cheap (stuff),” O’Hara said. “(Dockett) tried to punch him or elbow him in the throat and he had his face mask up. It was totally uncalled for. … You could tell they were frustrated. They didn’t know how to stop us and that’s what happened. When you get frustrated, you start doing cheap stuff.”…
According to a Cardinals spokesman, the team sent an informal complaint to the league about the Giants’ listing Jacobs as probable.
“We will look into it,” NFC information manager Randall Liu said.
League policy requires teams to furnish an explanation to the league office when a player who’s listed as probable doesn’t play. The Giants could have updated Jacobs’ status on Saturday night by downgrading him to questionable, but they’re not required to do so…
Derrick Ward
ran off the field shouting “10-1! 10-1! 10-1!” to a bunch of delirious Giants fans.
