Giants Make Room for Picks

Giants Insider

Two days before the club is to report to Albany, NY on Sunday the Giants waived two players so that they would have room on the roster when their top two draft picks sign.

The Giants waived linebacker Kenny Ingram and defensive end Ayanga Okpokowuruk.

Ingram, a product of Florida State, was with the Giants in camp last summer until the final cut and spent the final month of the season on the practicesquad. He was signed to the roster on Jan. 4.

Okpokowuruk, a rookie free agent from Duke, had been with the team since April 25.

At press time there was no new word on the negotiations of first-rounder Jason Pierre-Paul or second-round pick Linval Joseph but we'll fill you in as soon as we know anything on either.
