CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
- In 2001, earned his third consecutive trip to the Pro Bowl, his second as a starter, while continuing to climb the Eagles all-time charts in INTs (T7th-23) and interception yards (7th-312)
- Earned All-NFL honors from Sports Illustrated and was named to the 2001 All-Madden Team
- Was part of a secondary that allowed the lowest passing yards per game (179.0) in the NFC and the 2nd in the NFL in 2001. The unit also tied for the 2nd lowest passing TD total allowed in the league (13)
- Helped hold the Seahawks offense to just 21 yds. passing at Sea. (9/23/01), the lowest allowed by an Eagles defense in over 30 years
- Made an over-the-shoulder interception of a Brad Johnson pass in the endzone in the NFC Wild Card game vs. TB (1/12/02)
- Posted a career-high 1.5 sacks in 2001, all of which came at Dal. (11/18) against QB Ryan Leaf
- Returned to his 2nd consecutive Pro Bowl, his first as a starter, following the 2000 season in which he registered 92 tackles and 5 INTs
- Intercepted 2 passes for the 4th time in his career at NO (9/24/00). Also recovered a fumble by Ricky Williams which led to an Eagles TD
- In the NFC Wild Card game vs. TB (12/31/00), helped hold the Bucs WRs to just 3-30 receiving and had 5 pass knockdowns
- Earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl following the 1999 season as he ranked 1st in the NFL with a career-high 7 INTs. Became the first Eagle to top the entire NFL in INTs since Bill Bradley did so in 1972. Was originally selected as the first alternate at cornerback in the Pro Bowl balloting behind StL’s Todd Lyght (starter), Dal.’s Deion Sanders (starter), and Arz.’s Aeneas Williams. He ended up playing in the game for an injured Sanders and notched a game-high 9 tackles
- Notched a career-high 100 tackles ‘99
- Became the first Eagles cornerback ever to record a sack and an interception in the same game (vs. TB on 9/19/99 - QB Trent Dilfer was his victim for both)
- Notched two 4th qtr. INTs off of Drew Bledsoe vs. NE (12/19/99) in the Eagles 24-9 win
- Posted the first sack of his career vs. Dal.’s Troy Aikman on Monday Night Football, (11/2/98)
COLLEGE:
A four-year letterman and three-year starter at Wisconsin, Vincent was one of the most honored defensive backs as a senior, when he garnered first team All-America honors from College and Pro Football Newsweekly, The Football News and The Sporting News, while also earning co-defensive player of the year accolades from the Big Ten. Was also a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, given to the nation’s top defensive back.
A dangerous return man for the Badgers as well, he averaged 11.4 yards and scored 3 TDs on punt returns and had a 22.0-yard kickoff return average during his collegiate career. |
