| Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting free safety signed his one-year tender offer from the team worth $563,000 during the 2002 offseason. He will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2002 season.
Jackson, who is entering his fourth year in the league, was the team's lone restricted free agent.
Jackson started 15 games last year, missing only the Pittsburgh game due to injury. He picked off four passes, recorded 78 tackles and 2.5 sacks and notched two forced fumbles in addition to his 11 pass breakups.
Jackson has netted 109 tackles on defense and 38 special teams tackles in his first three NFL campaigns. He has started 15 of the 40 games he has played in the pros.
Tampa Bay drafted Jackson in the fourth-round of the 1999 NFL Draft out of Florida State. Jackson earned a reputation of being a "ballhawk" in college.
