In on 995 plays (95.3 percent), as defense used nickel pass defense more than dime. ... Started the season slow, but gained confidence week by week and finished strong as the team’s ‘Will’ (weak-side) linebacker. ... Signed six-year, $37.375 million deal with Packers in July. ... Paid a $1.91 million roster bonus, plus a base salary of $275,000, plus incentives in rookie season. Opion bonus of $11,856,250 due in March of 2007. ... College
Solidified his position as a Top Ten draft pick by leading Ohio State in tackles for the third straight year, as the Buckeyes emerged as one of the NCAA's top defenses in 2005. Hawk was also named an All-American for the Buckeyes. Sslected as the Big 10's MVP on defense again after winning the award in 2004. An outstanding finale to one of the top linebacking careers in recent OSU history.
